High Court Takes Action Against Vijaya Babu, Slaps ₹50,000 Fine
Amaravati: The High Court has taken a stern stance against Vijaya Babu, the former president of the Official Languages Commission, for filing what it deemed a politically motivated petition. The petition alleged that social activists were being arrested for their posts on social media. After a thorough inquiry, the court found the petition to lack merit and criticized Vijaya Babu for pursuing it with ulterior motives. As a result, the court imposed a fine of ₹50,000, directing him to pay the amount to the Legal Services Authority within a month. This ruling highlights the judiciary's disapproval of using legal channels for political purposes, reinforcing the importance of filing petitions based on genuine public interest rather than personal or political agendas.
